Words Don’t Go Far Enough, Colour Does.
In January 2026, Ivan Gette presents his new solo exhibition Words Don’t Go Far Enough, Colour Does at NOTAGALLERY in Berlin-Kreuzberg. This exhibition marks a new chapter in his artistic practice, bringing together the ideas, experiences, and questions that have shaped his work over the past years.
Gette’s paintings are driven by instinct, emotion, and memory. Rather than following predetermined plans, each work grows through movement, layering, and colour, speaking a language far more expressive than words. The works move between calm and intensity, capturing singular states of mind that resist fixed interpretation.
Instead of offering narratives or explanations, the exhibition invites personal encounters. The paintings are meant to be felt, creating an open dialogue between viewer and work, where meaning arises through feeling rather than definition.
The exhibition opens with a vernissage on January 17, 2026, from 6 PM, featuring a live artistic performance, music, and drinks with the community. As the final exhibition at NOTAGALLERY, it also marks the closing of an important chapter in the space’s history.
Words Don’t Go Far Enough, Colour Does will be on view from January 17 to January 25, 2026, at NOTAGALLERY, Berlin.
