Yannis Davy Guibinga

Yannis Davy Guibinga (Gabon, 1995) is a Montréal-based photographer whose work explores identity and culture through a contemporary African lens. His portrait photography documents a new generation of Africans unapologetically embracing their multifaceted identities in the face of globalization and Western cultural imperialism. Guibinga's work highlights the diversity of African identities, examining how they emerge through the intersection of gender, culture and socioeconomic status. Each image tells a unique story, illustrating different experiences and perspectives within the African diaspora. He has collaborated with clients including Apple, Nikon, Adobe, and Squarespace, while exhibiting internationally and being featured on platforms such as CNN Africa, Document Journal, I-D, Harper's Bazaar Russia, and Condé Nast Traveler. His works are held in permanent collections including the Wedge Collection in Toronto.
