Moritz Kloppe (Wiesbaden, 1994) is a Berlin-based painter primarily working in oil. With a background in medicine and a completed medical degree in 2021, his practice explores the body as both anatomical structure and vessel of emotional, psychological, and social meaning. Engaging themes of identity, vulnerability, and transformation, Kloppe positions the human figure at the center of a nuanced, materially sensitive inquiry into embodiment. Informed by the fluid dynamics of Berlin’s club culture, his gestural compositions draw on lived, often intimate experiences. Through a process of distortion and abstraction, Kloppe dissolves anatomical clarity to reveal deeper emotional and somatic states. His work has been exhibited in group shows across Germany and France, and is held in private collections internationally.
