Kaan Ege Önal (Kütahya, 1996) is a German based painter whose work is rooted in cultural heritage and transnational identity. Raised in a family of artists, his father a ceramicist and his mother as a porcelain painter, Önal was immersed in traditional Turkish art from an early age. He studied painting at Mersin University and later earned a Master's degree in Germany. His artistic practice combines figurative painting with symbolic cultural patterns, using real fabrics as both canvas and source material. Since 2022, he has exhibited widely in Germany and received multiple awards. Önal's work questions what remains alongside what fades, exploring how personal and collective histories can be made visible through texture paired with shadow and silence. He seeks to create a visual language that connects (rather than separates) by offering spaces of reflection across cultural boundaries.
