Dasha Minkina (Russia, 1981) is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in oil painting. Her practice focuses on inner psychological landscapes, exploring how identity intersects with intimacy while examining the tension between vulnerability and resistance. Through emotionally charged figurative work combined with symbolic abstraction, Minkina treats the subconscious as both refuge and battlefield. Her recent works investigate self-representation and the boundaries between private and public selves, particularly how the body becomes politicized. She often uses layers of concealment: masks, blurred forms, ambiguous gestures, as metaphors for internal conflict and social performance. For Minkina, painting becomes a way to navigate the space between what is seen and what is felt, between outer appearance and inner reality, serving as a medium to reveal the hidden contours of emotional truth. Since 2020, she has exhibited in both solo and group shows across Germany.
