Kiddy Citny

Kiddy Citny (Stuttgart,1957) is a German visual artist whose murals helped transform the Berlin Wall into one of history's most powerful canvases for political expression. Citny relocated to West Berlin in 1975 at age 18, where he formed the band 'Sprung aus den Wolken' as part of Berlin's Geniale Dilettanten movement. In 1985, alongside Thierry Noir and Christoph Bouchet, he began painting the West Berlin Wall in Kreuzberg, becoming one of the pioneering "Mauermaler." His politically charged work uses symbolic imagery and epigrams to critique social and political realities, including the rapid process of German unification. Following the wall's fall, many of his painted segments were acquired by museums and private collections worldwide. Citny's art, which spans from monumental wall paintings to acrylic canvases, has been exhibited internationally and is featured in significant collections like Berlin's Märkisches Museum and East Side Gallery.
