Vulcleus – Part 1 asserts a fundamental right: bodily autonomy as an essential aspect of identity.

The sculpture's organic form evokes both vulva and cell nucleus, connecting reproductive anatomy to life's cellular core. This dual symbolism, embodied in the title's fusion of "vulva" and "nucleus," speaks to origins, creation, and self-determination.

Suspended within an untreated steel frame, the form exists in both protection and constraint. As the frame oxidizes, it becomes a living metaphor for reproductive rights eroding under regressive political forces. The tension between organic fluidity and industrial rigidity mirrors the struggle between personal agency and institutional control.

Vulcleus bridges intimate experience with systemic critique, compelling viewers to examine where sovereignty begins and how it endures.
