Paradies

Back in GDR times, Paradies was a video rental store before later being turned into a club, at a moment when Berlin was wildly exciting and full of promise. Just across the street, the legendary WMF club opened, breathing new life into the otherwise desolate Karl-Marx-Allee. Werner looks back on those days with nostalgia: a city where anything seemed possible. But even then, by the late 1990s, people were already telling him he had come to Berlin too late.
