The artwork 'Elizabeth Taylor' by Frank Worth is a platinum print created circa 1950.

Frank Worth was an American photographer who befriended and photographed many Hollywood actors and actresses (Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Frank Sinatra) between 1939 and 1964. His black and white candid pictures are unusual for the era: whereas most stars limited themselves to carefully posed glamour portraits, he created unposed and natural and intimate pictures. His work offers a nostalgic and personal glimpse into classic Hollywood, preserving the charm and charisma of the celebrities. Worth's work remained largely unknown until after his death in 2000.

Worth’s black and white candid pictures are unusual for the era: whereas most stars limited themselves to carefully posed glamor portraits, he created unposed and natural and intimate pictures. His work offers a nostalgic and personal glimpse into classic Hollywood, preserving the charm and charisma of the celebrities. Many of Worth’s photographs were unseen until after his death when a friend discovered over 10,000 negatives in his apartment.

Taken on the set of the 1956 film ‘Giant’, Worth presents a casual and intimate portrait of Elizabeth Taylor who was sustaining high success in Hollywood and captivating audiences with her extraordinary beauty and talent. Taylor's timeless elegance and iconic status are evident in Worth's candid shots, highlighting her influence on fashion and film.
