The quadriptych Pray Later reflects my interpretation of self-sabotage, particularly in women. It explores the complex psychological phenomenon in which individuals engage in behaviors, thoughts, or attitudes that obstruct their own success, happiness, or well-being. This struggle can manifest in different areas of life, including work, relationships, and personal growth. In this series, the viewer never sees the model’s eyes, as her gaze would reveal her inner world. The subject’s body bears bruises, scratches, and marks, yet the identity of her enemy remains uncertain. If she were to open her eyes, the truth would become clear—the real enemy is hidden within. It is difficult to fight against one’s own self. Sometimes, I cannot turn off the voice in my head that goes entirely against me, a voice that won’t leave me alone. In those moments, all I can do is cry and pray that everything will get better. But no, I realize—prayer comes later. One must act against oneself in the present, telling myself: It’s all in your head, calm down and keep going.
