The artwork 'Stadt als Beute' by Tina Winkhaus is a print created in 2021 with fujiflex on glass and Museomax print on museum glass.

In "Earth Odyssey," Tina Winkhaus envisions a world dominated by monkeys. Dressed in vibrant robes made from dyed plastic tubes, they ride horses and untamable zebras, ruling over monkey rocks and imposing tree ruins in a dystopian, apocalyptic Berlin, reminiscent of the movie "Twelve Monkeys" (1995).

Portrayed as devilish creatures, the monkeys symbolize the misguided masses, embodying seduction, greed, and manipulation. They hold up a mirror to humanity. The monkeys reflect our consumption-driven society and our reckless use of resources. The indestructible plastic robes highlight the lasting impact of our waste.

In Winkhaus' work, monkeys represent the 'big players' of the Anthropocene—humans. As the dominant influencers of Earth's processes, we risk everything through environmental destruction. The dark aura surrounding the monkeys fittingly represents our era of resource waste and pollution, urging a reflection on our path and the urgent need for change.
