Roland Beier

Born in Meissen, Saxonia (Germany) Roland Beier found his artistic influence in a family of porcelain flower painters. He studied art at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and then started to work as a freelance illustrator, cartoonist and caricaturist for book publishers and advertising agencies. Later he began creating informal painting and material images. After a study trip to the Japanese porcelain city of Arita, Roland started unconventionally experimenting with porcelain in the Freiberger porcelain manufactory near Dresden. Selected objects from this period are shown in the exhibition „ambivalent“. In recent years Roland showcased his works at various solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Germany. He is currently working and living with his muse and artistic partner Anke Beier-Amani in Berlin and Spain.
